Way To End: Various shades of black
03/04/13 || Cobal
Staffers having the chance to select what we want to stub – not that there’s much of a wide variety, you know, unless we’d like to stub something from our own research/stock – puts us in the position of exposing ourselves. Exposing ourselves in terms of taste and interests that is.
You got it: It’s difficult for me to resist almost anything that’s labeled as black metal, even if pretentiously tagged as “avantgarde”. Me, I don’t see what is avantgarde in Way to End’s music, but I’ll tell you this: They do take care of their songwriting and try hard, perhaps too hard, not to sound like this. Still, I enjoyed some of their dissonant instrumental passages when not too over-the-place.
6/10: Although appreciated, their efforts didn’t do much for me.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
